Getting into students' lives
Here's another picture from last summer: Charlie's talking with Tamfu Dieudonne, a CBTS student who became a good friend. Getting to know students in more informal ways, through talking after class and sharing meals together in our on-campus house, will be a big part of our time at CBTS next year, we hope.

I'm excited about your upcoming ministry at CBTS - primarily the length of your stay which will enable you to develop relationships. By God's grace, you will not only inform the minds of your students, but will leave an impression on their lives as you exemplify Christ in your walk.
Congratulations to each of you on your graudation from TBI!
Kerry, thanks for your encouragement. I'm excited too about the relational aspect of this trip, especially since Charlie and I have friends there that we made last summer. I can't wait to get reacquainted with them. I love Paul's desire to make ministry not only a sharing of the Word but a sharing of your own life. Pray that we'll go deep with our students.
Have you been able to correspond with some of the students you met last summer? I would value any ideas/insights you have into "going deep" with people - particularly those of a different culture than your own. Fortunately, African culture seems to esteem relationships much more highly than our fast-paced, individualistic American society does.
I have gotten several emails from students I met last summer. One of them, named Dieudonne (pictured on this blog), is a new pastor in a coastal city in Cameroon, and he updates us periodically on how his ministry is going. I know that Charlie has also gotten several letters from students he got to know. I'm hoping we'll be able to "pick up where we left off" with some of these friends.
