The Adventure of the Airports
We're in Brussels, Belgium! It's almost 8 pm Central European Time, and all three of us are together at an internet cafe downtown. We had numerous delays State-side, as you probably guessed. In addition to the tight security that made for lengthy lines at the airports, we had to sit on our planes on the runways for several hours because of severe weather. Charlie ended up meeting Tommy and me in Brussels, not in NYC as originally planned. "In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps" (Proverbs 16:9). And we all three missed our flight to Yaounde! American Airlines, though, quickly and helpfully worked it out for us to catch a 10 am flight to Zurich tomorrow morning (the 12th) and then a 12:15 flight to Yaounde. So please pray we make that connection! In the meantime, they booked us a room at a Holiday Inn here in Brussels, so we've spent the afternoon and evening enjoying the city and catching up with each other.
All in all, we feel safe and sound, though tired and exhausted. God has been very good so far, and we're trusting him for "more grace" (James 4:6).
Greetings especially to our families! Hopefully the next time you hear from us, we'll be in Cameroon!
--Wesley, for the team
P.S. Charlie wants the world to know he had bouillabaisse for dinner tonight.
P.P.S. Tommy had to be taught by the busboy (to the amusement of the family sitting next to us) how to eat escargot.

Such a delight to come home from vacation and be able to read, read, read about your travels. Of course, throughout the day yesterday Anders wanted to pray for you - so we did; especially in light of the recent security issues. We all thought about your Nalgenes and how they would have to EMPTY!! (At least going through security).
Always glad to get updates that include interesting food experiences - can't say that I have ANY desire to EVER eat escargot - YUK!! Tommy, I'm so impressed. Charlie's dinner sounds much more appetizing - of course this past week we have enjoyed much grilled food while at the cabin. Very relaxing - more on that later via email.
OK - I'm very thankful that you are as far in your journey as you are - that you have a place to stay and a plan to continue on. Ah, that banner of flexibility must wave from the very beginning. We will continue to be praying for you!! Thanks for the updates and know that we all miss you already.
TTFNUNP!
did you eat escargot Tommy?
if you did,god job,i will NEVER eat it
did you make it?
natcon is what the cool people say.
When is Anders going to post a comment?!
We have been praying for you guys and hope the rest of your flights went smoothly! Escargot, huh? Well, that might be the beginning of your interesting food experiences. Be sure to get Tommy a Mambo bar once you arrive.
mom is fertimld... *tommy/anders/tizzyface*
we miss you and don't know if you've landed!
we do just have one kreshchtun. what was tommy's initial response to africa? how are the smells btw? (that's by the way)
The classic Anders quote for the week:
"It just smells like Africa out here today!"
This was said on our deck, early Monday morning - now why he thinks HE knows what Africa smells like I don't know...but, at least it's on his mind.

Anders, I needed that to relieve some of the tension I am feeling from not having heard from the "Cameroon guys"! I wish they would hurry up and let us know that they are safe and sound--with their bags!
Keep the comments coming, Anders! You make my day!

Charlie ate....what? We have no idea what that is.
Escargot sounds nasty. "Tastes like chicken", right?
Glad you guys are safe! You're in our prayers...be sure to let us know when you get there...
Tabbs
Just to let everyone know, the BGC Field Coordinator emailed this afternoon and said that the guys have arrived safely in Ndu! They are getting settled in and are excited to be there. He also said that it will take a few days to get their own email up and running.
Keep praying, and I'm sure we will hear from them soon!
Glad you arrived safely! I'm going to have some diet coke to celebrate. Many people are praying for you.
Tommy,
My mom once said that escargot tastes like, "garlic bubble gum". Does that work?
All Blessings!
